Via a pipeline bridge the production plant is supplied with raw materials from the tank farm. These tanks are located at BP Europa SE, Gelsenkirchen storage, and they are supplied by daily delivery by our shareholders and further suppliers. Deliveries take place by tank trucks, rail tank cars and/or tank barges via “Rhine-Herne channel”. This passage is used for our additional storage, which is located in Rotterdam. This is our storage centre for imported goods from all over the world.
Furthermore, reversing ways, our finished products are stored in appropriate tanks. The same logistics are available for delivery of our finished products. Depending upon location of the various tanks, that is the so called "north and/or south storage”, the length of pipelines differs. To the northern part the difference accumulates to approx. 1,200 meters and to the southern part to approx. 400 meters.
With approximately 68 meters the "C101" is our highest column. In this column our intermediate product is “boiled". Here we separate our main product benzene from the heavier aromatics toluene and xylenes.
Normally the flare is not in operation. Only if we are faced with unexpected operating conditions, pollutants resulting of our plants chemical processes get burned under low emissions. Thus our flare serves the protection of environment and humans. The height of our flare is approx. 32 meters.
These columns, on the left “C301/C302” and on the right “C201”, are producing purest toluene. The height of both columns is approx. 50 meters.
These columns are producing xylene and Arsol® (Aromatic Solvent). Our xylene column C202 on the left side is about 49 meters high. On the right side with approximately 40 meters, the Arsol column is the smallest one.
Homologous plant
The total view over our entire production plant shows a multiplicity of lines and pipes. However each product finds the right way.
